The Constant Storm

Jen Kelly (she/her) is a Scottish performance artist, creating work around her love of storytelling and emotion. As an artist she engages with autobiography, physical theatre, visual theatre and storytelling in her making.

Jen will be developing her work The Constant Storm with a creative team at An Tobar and Mull Theatre in April.

The piece is a hybrid of visual theatre, physical theatre, comedy, and contemporary performance; A stylised multimedia piece, working closely with aesthetics, composition, and production to create an immersive experience of a high standard for audience members.

The performance is loosely based on a reimagined version of a classical text, Shakespeare’s The Tempest. This performance explores the pressures on women in society, commenting on various political issues and the complex binaries in which almost seem impossible for women to achieve in society.
