Connor J Weir

From a receptive 10-year-old, deeply influenced by the electrifying energy of 'School of Rock,' to a jazz guitarist firmly rooted in the captivating landscapes of the Isle of Mull, Connor J's musical journey has been an ever-evolving tale of inspiration and dedication.

Nurtured by the guidance of his grandfather, Connor swiftly honed his musical prowess, immersing himself in a diverse array of musical styles under the mentorship of the accomplished Finlay Wells. However, it was a transformative moment at the age of 16 that set the course for his future. It was then that he first encountered the mesmerizing melodies of Django Reinhardt, igniting an unquenchable passion for the world of jazz.

Leaving the shores of Mull, Connor embarked on a new chapter at the prestigious Leeds Conservatoire. While pursuing his degree in Jazz Guitar, he founded the musical ensemble Where Is The Red Scarf? A testament to his dedication and talent, Connor graduated with first-class honors, displaying his unwavering commitment to his craft.

Eager to share his musical knowledge and passion, Connor pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) in Aberdeen, where he fully embraced the thriving local jazz scene. Now, having returned to Mull, Connor continues to embark on his captivating musical odyssey, creating soul-stirring melodies that resonate with both his island roots and his ever-expanding love for jazz.
