As part of our In the Wings programme, An Tobar and Mull Theatre offers a limited number of R&D opportunities each year for companies or artists to develop new or existing work at one of our spaces on Mull. Over a period of one or two weeks, we provide technical assistance and dramaturgical support to help guide projects or practice to the next stage. We are also able to offer accommodation for up to 6 people in our company apartment in Tobermory, if required, but are unable to contribute to other living or travel costs. As part of the development process, it may also be possible to hold public workshops or work-in-progress showings and we are able to help with the organisation and marketing of this, but artists and companies should bear in mind that audience for these are limited on Mull. Any public facing event must be scheduled at least three months in advance.

We are looking to support work that aligns with our Artist Policy and Organisational Cultural Manifesto, is unique and forward thinking, but we are keen that the process remains artist-led and that the assistance we provide is bespoke to the desires and aims of each artist and project.

In return for our support, we ask for the option of having a “Made with the support of An Tobar and Mull Theatre’ credit on future iterations of the work.
