Housekeeper (Mosshill) Job Description
Responsible to: Cafe Manager

Context:

An Tobar and Mull Theatre is a multi-artform creative hub on the Hebridean island of Mull.

We’re looking for a friendly and well-organised Housekeeper to take the lead on welcoming the many visiting artists that help deliver our inspiring artistic programme.

Reporting to the Café Manager, the Housekeeper will manage the housekeeping and maintenance of Mosshill, AT&MT's residential property for staff and visiting artists.

The post holder will take overall ownership and responsibility for all daily housekeeping and maintenance tasks, and deal with guest issues as they arise. They will be organised and able to work well under pressure, liaising closely with the Producer and FOH staff to ensure excellent communication and a positive experience for all guests.

This is a seasonal role. A ‘live in’ option is also available, offering an en-suite double room within the company house.

There may also be opportunities to work Front of House at both An Tobar and Mull Theatre and at An Tobar in the café during the season.

Working Hours:

Approx 10 hours per week. With the option to ‘top-up’ hours with Front of House and Café shifts. The Housekeeper will be expected to work flexibly including weekends and bank holidays.

Pay:

£12.50 per hour.

Job Description:

• To be responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms and shared spaces at Mosshill to a high standard

• To ensure all elements of the property are kept in a good state of repair, liaising with the Administrator to arrange any significant building, maintenance or infrastructural works occur in a timely and well managed manner

• Washing dirty bedding, and household linen and managing external laundry and cleaning services as appropriate

• Stocking and maintaining an inventory of housekeeping supplies

• Liaising with the Producer to ensure clear and positive communication with guests and a smooth arrival and check in process

• Receiving visitors and showing guests around

• Dusting furniture or fixtures and polishing them

• Scrubbing and sanitising showers, bathtubs, toilets, countertops and sinks

• Vacuuming and cleaning carpets, doormats and rugs

• Reporting breakages, damages and safety issues for repairs as appropriate

• Disposing of waste properly, in line with council requirements.
