Plan(et) B
Visual Arts
Winter Outreach
Over the winter months the Visual Arts team will be building on the photographic theme of our summer programme and autumn workshops exploring experimental photo techniques. From November we'll be sharpening our focus on Mull and looking close-up at some of the work being made across the island.
Mull & Iona Studio Cèilidhs
One of the best things about our job is getting to visit artists and makers in their studios, see their work and hear directly from them about their practice and processes. ‘Cèilidh’ means ‘visit’ in Gaelic, and traditionally a cèilidh would be a small gathering in people’s homes which combined culture, work and conversation, particularly through the long, dark winter nights.
This year over the winter months we'll be continuing these Studio cèilidhs by co-hosting a series of informal gatherings with artists and makers in their spaces. Please join us for the first Studio Cèilidhs in 2023 – a chance to come together to see a selection of work by local artists, converse about their work and the wider cultural scene on Mull & Iona (booking essential).
Mhàiri Killin – Thursday 9th November, 2pm – 4pm, Aosdàna Gallery, Iona
Pippa Gatty – Thursday 23rd November, 2pm – 4pm, Pippa's Studio, Langamull
Monica Haddock – Saturday 9th December, 2pm – 4pm, Ardalanish, Isle of Mull Weavers
We want to hear from artists and makers on the islands who would like to co-host a Studio Cèilidh with us in 2024. Would you like to share your work and ideas with a small, interested group? Would you enjoy conversation and feedback on a particular project or a discussion with the Visual Arts curators about your practice? If you think this could be you, please get in touch with

or Rhona (rhona@antobarandmulltheatre.co.uk).
