Adam Ross
'Staring At Mountains' by Adam Ross is out now. Recorded in the atmospheric settings of Todhead Lighthouse and Delgatie Castle in north-east Scotland and featuring contributions from Jenny Sturgeon and Pedro Cameron (Man of the Minch), the album is the first solo material from the frontman of indie-folk band Randolph's Leap.
The warm, stripped-back album has earned comparisons to Loudon Wainright III and John Prine and has been generating buzz on BBC Radio Scotland and BBC Radio Nan Gaidheal with airtime on the Iain Anderson Show, Travelling Folk, The Roddy Hart Show and Rapal. A 15-minute documentary featuring performances and interviews filmed at Todhead Lighthouse and Kinneff Old Church has been created and can be found via Folk Radio here.
Adam is a seasoned performer who has appeared at Celtic Connections, The Edinburgh Fringe, Green Man, Belladrum, Doune The Rabbit Hole and toured across the UK.
"⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Highlights include country folk number The Swell, a haunting requiem for the lost fishing village of Shieldhill on the east coast of Scotland, and the post-tour comedown of When the Music Ends, with Pedro Cameron’s fiddle accompaniment never more soulful." - The Scotsman
"Sheer class" - BBC Radio Scotland Iain Anderson Show
"Ross’s storytelling and songwriting is still second to none" - The Skinny
"Altogether charming" - At The Barrier
