DRAWING IN
Drawing In is An Tobar’s winter exhibition, exploring how the process of drawing, in all its various forms, can invite a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
Invitation
Drawing In is made up of two distinct but related parts. First, Invitation, which sees a curated selection of drawn works by invited artists exhibited at the An Tobar gallery. Each artist has been chosen for their particular approach to the process of drawing and the themes they explore in their work; from large scale works with minute detail, to “blind movie drawings”. This first phase will also be accompanied by an invitation to the communities of Mull and surrounding areas to contribute their own drawings and sketches, from those experimenting with mark making for the first time to experienced artists.
Featuring work by: Calum Wallis, Samantha Clark, Anna Lucas, Penny McCarthy, Kirsten Lavers, Jenny Soep, David Haines, Bedwyr Williams, Randy Klinger and Brian McHenry.
Open
This is followed by the second part of Drawing In, Open, running from Saturday 4 February until Sun 16 April, showcasing artwork contributions by the local community alongside the curated exhibition.
