Held On The High Wire

Co-created by Jenny Qaqundah & Myshkin Warbler.

Based on Jenny Qaqundah's book Held Together and Myshkin Warbler's record Trust and The High Wire.

Thursday 12 September . . . . Bunessan Hall 7.30pm
Friday 13 September . . . . . . . Craignure Hall 7.30pm
Saturday 14 September . . . . . .Mull Theatre 7.30pm

A candid, spellbinding multimedia performance tells the story of Jenny's near death experience, sepsis survival, and new life on metal legs. Balancing urgency, reflection, humour and wonder, the show merges Jenny's raw, vulnerable memoir with Myshkin's haunting Folk/Jazz music. It explores sudden disability, queer family, resilience, love
and transformation.

Myshkin Warbler is a Dutch-American music and multimedia artist. Her ten records of original songs, multimedia performance pieces, and three decades of international touring brought her to Scotland on a Global Talent visa in 2023. Jenny Qaqundah is a Palestinian born in America, a writer, cellist, entrepreneur and disability activist.

For ages 12+ with adult themes and strong language.

Myshkin is a giant among songwriters. Well observed, unflinching, tender, bitterly funny songs.
City Life, Manchester, UK

Jenny's book is an impressive feat of collaborative non-fiction that takes risks with an experimental style and format to tell an amazing story.

Darkly joyous, endlessly restless, and spellbinding. Gypsy, cabaret and punk influences, and a masterfully mercurial, seductive voice.
