Multi Year Funding Announcement

An Tobar and Mull Theatre Celebrate Increased Funding from Creative Scotland

An Tobar and Mull Theatre are delighted to announce that Creative Scotland has awarded An Tobar and Mull Theatre increased funding for the next three years. This significant investment recognises the vital role we play in the global cultural landscape from our Highlands and Islands base, and will allow us to enhance our artistic and community-focused initiatives.

The increased support means we can expand our programming, commission more original work, and strengthen our outreach efforts, ensuring that high-quality arts experiences remain accessible to audiences on Mull and beyond. This funding boost will enable us to:

· Develop and produce new theatre works, supporting Scottish artists and playwrights.

· Expand our touring schedule to bring live performances to remote communities across Scotland.

· Enhance our music and visual arts programmes, offering development, support and opportunities for creative collaboration.

· Strengthen our educational and community engagement projects, inspiring young and emerging artists.

Rebecca Atkinson-Lord, Artistic Director & CEO of An Tobar and Mull Theatre, said:

"We're incredibly grateful to Creative Scotland for their continued Multi-Year Funding support. The team there have made some hard decisions in very difficult circumstances. AT&MT are lucky to have received a 30% uplift, which will go some way to mitigating the 65% inflation rate experienced by islands and rural areas. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with Creative Scotland and organisations across the sector to bring contemporary island culture to national and international audiences."
