Amy Laurenson & Miguel Girão are a piano and guitar duo that have emerged from the vibrant Glasgow traditional music scene. Together, the duo explores the musical traditions of Scotland, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. Binding old and modern melodies with contemporary aesthetics, the duo explores the connections between the musical traditions of different corners of the world in a cross-genre scenario
drawing inspiration from classical music and jazz.
The duo joined Live Music Now Scotland in March 2023. Amy and Miguel are also founding members of the five-piece Scottish/Scandinavian fusion band, Tern.
They were awarded the Danny Kyle Open Stage award during Celtic Connections 2023.
